How to read these
The cancellation rate is the one that affects you most. 0.7% against a 3% ceiling works out at roughly one cancellation in every 140 trips — which matters because a host cancelling two days before your trip in high season leaves you rebooking at short-notice prices.

If you have only rented from counters, the sequence is different enough to be worth walking through.
Book and give an address
Reserve on Turo or direct, then confirm where the car should go — hotel, Airbnb, residential address, or an airport garage. Airport handovers need your flight details so the timing works around delays.
Confirm the window
Delivery is scheduled rather than walk-up, so the time gets agreed in advance. This is the step that catches people out on same-day bookings — a counter can hand you keys in ten minutes, a delivery cannot.
The car arrives ready
A driver brings the vehicle charged (or fuelled), cleaned and ready to drive. For EVs there is a short walkthrough covering charging, the app, and driver assistance features if you have not used them before.
Collection at the end

Booking direct
No platform fee, and the operator's own cancellation terms apply rather than Turo's. You give up the protection plans — coverage runs under Amped's commercial policy, and you are generally expected to carry your own auto liability insurance — and there is no platform sitting between you and the operator in a dispute.
