About Turo

4 questions

Turo is a peer-to-peer car sharing marketplace — think Airbnb, but for cars. Private owners and professional fleet operators list their vehicles for rent on the Turo platform. You book through the Turo app, and the vehicle is delivered or available for pickup based on the host's model. In Miami, professional hosts like Amped Auto Rentals list their Tesla and EV fleet on Turo with delivery throughout South Florida.

Download the Turo app, create an account, and complete identity verification. Search for available vehicles in Miami, select your host and model, choose your dates, and book. The host then arranges delivery to your hotel, Airbnb, or airport. Turo adds a service fee of 15–35% on top of the host's daily rate. Many Miami hosts including Amped Auto Rentals also accept direct bookings at lower prices.

Yes. Turo is a legitimate platform with millions of completed trips across the US. In Miami, booking with established professional hosts like Amped Auto Rentals — which carries a 5-star rating with 250+ completed trips — adds further peace of mind. Turo also offers trip protection plans covering liability and physical damage. As with any service, choose hosts with strong ratings and verified reviews.

For most travelers, yes. A Tesla in Miami gives you Autopilot for I-95 and Florida Turnpike driving, eliminates gas costs, and provides a premium experience at competitive rates. Tesla Model 3 starts from $85/day and Model Y from $95/day when booking direct — comparable to premium traditional rentals once fuel savings are factored in.

Requirements

Turo's platform minimum age in the US is 18 years old, though young driver fees apply for renters under 25. However, individual hosts set their own minimums. Amped Auto Rentals requires a minimum age of 21 for all vehicles — whether booked on Turo or direct. Turo charges a young driver surcharge for renters aged 21–24 on top of the daily rate. You must have held your license for at least one year.

You need three things: a valid driver's license (US or international — bring the physical card), a credit or debit card for the security deposit and payment, and a Turo account with completed identity verification if booking through the platform. International visitors' home country licenses are accepted. Direct bookings at book.ampedautorentals.com don't require a Turo account.

Yes. International visitors can rent with Amped Auto Rentals using their home country driver's license — no US license or International Driving Permit required. You must still meet the minimum age of 21 and have a credit or debit card for the security deposit. Your license must be valid and not expired for the full duration of the rental.

Amped Auto Rentals' Terms of Service require renters to maintain personal auto liability insurance providing primary coverage for bodily injury, property damage liability, and personal injury protection (PIP) as required by Florida law. When booking on Turo, you additionally select a Turo trip protection plan covering liability and physical damage. When booking directly, the vehicle is covered under Amped's Roamly commercial fleet insurance. Review the full Terms of Service before booking.

Booking & Cancellation

4 questions

Same-day bookings are available subject to vehicle availability. For the fastest response on same-day rentals, call or text (786) 981-1177 directly. Booking through the Turo app for same-day delivery is also possible but direct contact confirms availability in real time.

For direct bookings with Amped Auto Rentals: cancellations 48+ hours before the start receive a full refund. Cancellations 24–48 hours before receive a partial refund — the trip price minus one average day's cost, plus 50% of the delivery fee back. Cancellations under 24 hours before the start receive no refund. There is a 15-minute grace period immediately after booking for a full refund at any time. For Turo platform bookings, Turo's cancellation policy governs.

Yes — contact the host as early as possible. With Amped Auto Rentals call or text (786) 981-1177 to request an extension. Extensions are subject to vehicle availability since another guest may have the car booked after you. On the Turo platform, you can also request a trip extension through the app for the host to approve.

Direct booking is always cheaper — Turo adds a service fee of 15–35% on every reservation. Booking directly at book.ampedautorentals.com skips that fee entirely. The trade-off is that direct bookings don't include Turo's trip protection insurance options.

Vehicles Available in Miami

4 questions

The current Miami fleet includes: Tesla Model 3 (2023, from $85/day), Tesla Model Y (2021 & 2022, from $95/day), Chevrolet Equinox EV RS (2025 ×2, from $85/day), Nissan Pathfinder SV (2025, from $115/day), and Nissan Rogue SV (2026, from $90/day).

Choose the Model Y if you have 3 or more passengers, luggage, or need an SUV's cargo space. Choose the Model 3 if you're traveling solo or as a couple, want to save $10/day, or prefer a sportier sedan for Miami Beach and Brickell. Both have similar range and include Autopilot.

Yes. The 2025 Nissan Pathfinder SV seats up to 8 passengers across three rows. It's the largest vehicle in the Amped Auto Rentals fleet and the best option for large families or group trips. Available from $115/day with delivery throughout South Florida.

Yes. Amped Auto Rentals also offers gas vehicles if an EV isn't the right fit for your trip. The Nissan Pathfinder (from $115/day, 8 seats) and Nissan Rogue SV 2026 (from $90/day) are gas-powered SUVs available with the same delivery service throughout South Florida.

Delivery & Pickup

4 questions

Amped Auto Rentals is delivery-only — no physical lot or counter. They deliver your vehicle directly to your hotel, Airbnb, home, or airport. For airport deliveries your car is pre-parked in the airport garage and they text you the exact spot when you land. For hotels and other locations a driver meets you at the property. Delivery is free on rentals of 7+ days.

Delivery covers a 50-mile radius from Miami Gardens across all three South Florida counties: Miami, Miami Beach, Fort Lauderdale, Hollywood, Wynwood, Miami Gardens, and Boca Raton & Delray Beach. MIA and FLL airports are also included.

Delivery with Amped Auto Rentals is free on rentals of 7 days or longer to most South Florida locations including MIA and FLL airports. For rentals under 7 days, a flat $120 fee applies — this covers both the initial delivery and the end-of-rental pickup from your location. No per-mile charges.

Yes. Contact Amped Auto Rentals at (786) 981-1177 or [email protected] to arrange a different return location. One-way returns within the delivery area are accommodated depending on scheduling. Additional fees may apply if the return location is significantly different from the original delivery point.

During Your Rental

5 questions

Call or text Amped Auto Rentals directly at (786) 981-1177 — they provide support throughout your entire rental period. For accidents or damage, stop safely, document everything with photos, and contact the host immediately. If booking on Turo, also report the incident through the Turo app. Do not drive away from any incident without reporting it first.

Yes. Amped Auto Rentals permits driving to the Florida Keys. Miami to Key West is approximately 160 miles one way — well within the range of the Tesla and EV fleet. Confirm with the host when booking and note that charging options in the Keys are more limited than Miami, so plan accordingly using the Tesla app's charging map before you leave.

Amped Auto Rentals is reachable by phone or text at (786) 981-1177 throughout your rental period for support. Same-day and early-morning bookings are accommodated subject to availability — call directly for fastest response outside business hours. The Turo app itself is available 24/7 for booking and trip management.

Yes. All rentals include 300 miles per day (e.g. a 3-day rental = 900 total miles). Miles over the daily allowance are charged at a per-mile overage rate disclosed at checkout. Planning a longer drive? The unlimited mileage add-on is $59 flat per rental and must be selected at time of booking — it cannot be added after the rental starts. All vehicles must remain within Florida unless prior written approval is obtained from Amped.

No. All Amped Auto Rentals vehicles are 100% non-smoking and non-vaping — cigarettes, cigars, cannabis, e-cigarettes, vapes, and any other smoking device are prohibited at all times, including while parked. If any evidence is found upon return — odor, ash, burn marks, or residue — a $400 non-negotiable fee is charged with no exceptions, regardless of whether windows were open or only a passenger smoked.

Payments & Deposits

3 questions

With direct bookings, Amped Auto Rentals pre-authorizes a $250 fully refundable hold on your credit or debit card at booking or delivery. If no incidentals are incurred, the hold is released upon satisfactory return — typically 3–7 business days depending on your card issuer's processing timeline. The deposit covers Supercharger fees, tolls, citations, mileage overages, damage, cleaning fees, and other charges. If incidentals exceed $250, the excess is charged separately. On Turo, the platform holds a deposit that varies by vehicle and protection plan.

The Turo platform accepts major credit and debit cards including Visa, Mastercard, American Express, and Discover. Prepaid cards are generally not accepted. For direct bookings with Amped Auto Rentals, credit and debit cards are accepted — contact (786) 981-1177 for payment options on direct reservations.

When booking on Turo, guests choose a protection plan at checkout that determines their out-of-pocket responsibility if the vehicle is damaged. Higher-cost plans mean lower or zero out-of-pocket for the guest; lower-cost or declined plans mean the guest bears more of the cost. All Turo trips include third-party liability coverage up to $750,000 per incident through Turo's commercial policy with Travelers. When booking directly with Amped Auto Rentals, the vehicle is covered under their Roamly commercial fleet insurance — Turo's protection plans don't apply to direct bookings.
